Pupil Leadership
Pupil leadership at Maple Cross is a fundamental part of our school ethos.
At Maple Cross JMI, we believe that all of our learners are leaders and throughout the school, our learners develop the skills of being Positive Communicators, Team Builders and Decision Makers. (see our Ethos and Values section for further information regarding this)
Pupil Job Shop
Developing pupils as leaders is key to our approach at school. Within our school, we display our pupil job shop in the hall. Here pupils have opportunities to apply for leadership opportunities. These opportunities can be yearlong or term projects or shorter action research focuses.

Reading is the heart of our curriculum. Over the last 18 months, our reading leaders have contributed to the development of our newly refurbished reading den. Our reading leaders undertake different projects throughout the year. Some of these projects are one offs and some are on-going. This includes anything reading related form organising World Book Day to keeping the reading den tidy!
